Reflection on the week

For this week we have filmed a lot of what we need in the day time and are on the process of editing in now. Whilst doing this we are planning our next bit of filming for the night time footage in the woods. We have set the time for this Sunday at around 7ish to get the lighting that we need. Also we have the cast and they now know where they are going and when for. I am going to be updating my blog as I go along to make sure that I am in order and organised with what we are doing.

Our next filming plan

This weekend we have decided to do more filming in the day time and get the footage we need for that over and done with. We will take our leading girl (Rosa) to do her part in the woods and also the couple part in the town with me and Rosa to do that day time filming. The only crops that we will need is the clothing of both me and Rosa. The time we will do it will be about midday to one. This is when we feel that the light will be the best and also make it look realistic in town with the amount of the people  that will be there, making the shopping look like a real experience.

Our First Filming

Throughout the weekend we have rounded up the equipment, such as the camera and a tripod and started filming our first few scenes of our music video. we decided to go to Formby beach to get a few establishing shots for the very start of our video. we decided to go twice, once in the morning and another in the night. This is because we wanted to play around with the light a bit to see what was best for our video. Me and my partner, Scott both had a go at holding the camera and trying different shots that can go into the video. We feel that some of the footage is very weak, as the lighting and positioning, just didn't work for us. However there are also shots that we have got which may use for our actual video which is a great result. We plan to go to other venues such as the woods in Formby and town this weekend to get more much more footage that we can use, but this was definitely a good start.

Planning Camera Shots

The first five scenes that we will shoot are going to be establishing shots of the scenery in Formby such as the beach and the woods to get a feel for the environment of the film, straight away in the first 5 seconds. After this we will see our character for the first time which will be a mid shot of her waist up to show her clear expression and also background fitted in. As the music progresses we will be using more shots to expresses her feelings and expression such as close ups and more mid shots, however we will be adding a few long shots to show the environment and the setting that she is in, so the viewers get a full idea of where she is and how alone she is. When it goes back to the past and darker, we use a various amount of different shots and angles to get a wider idea of the dancing and the movement of the actors some low and some high, to create the idea of speed and diversity. This process continues as we see the man and woman in the shopping centre together.
