So recently we decided that our song for the video will be Avicii's 'Dear Boy' and we have had a detailed discussion about what to include in our music video. The first thing that we had to decide was whether it was going to be performance, narrative or concept. So when we looked at the music videos based in our music genre we noticed that most of them has a narrative throughout the video but is common that we do see the artist and we see a glimpse of a performance, so that is an idea we want to include. We believe that this song is about a girl who is suffering from a relationship that she has with a boy in her past. She now explains to us that she wants him back and envy's him. We want the video to show the girl morning over the boy showing her suffering whilst also showing their past times when she sings it in the song. Within the song there are very nice links that I feel you can make from lyrics in a song to a scene in a video. Lyrics such as "Go dance in the woods", we want to have a male in the woods and has arrived at a campfire and starts to dance with the girl singing this song. Another link that we see in the chorus
"Oh dear boy, I wanna follow you,
You're a wild boy, I am a wild girl too.
Oh dear boy, it's so hollow without you
In a world with everything but it won't do."
Here we want to expand on the lyrics of wild boy and wild girl, by having the characters obviously doing something wild. Something such as punching and throwing with anger.
